PRIDES NOONDAY SUN

Was a gorgeous stallion, he was the richest colour of sorral, just a real pretty horse, he was a solid sorral, the underside of his tail was real light. "Sunny" as he was called, was 16HH, had a nice solid build...a real sturdy looking fella, he had a pretty shapely head.

Prides Noonday Sun had the nicest front end you ever did see, he really was amazing.

Sunny's disposition was unbeatable, he was always a gentleman, just a real sweetheart of a horse. On the off season we would let the kids ride him. When ever someone new would come over, we would put them on him, he really was a great horse, and took great care of his people. During breeding season, he remained a perfect gentleman, never showed any signs of being wild, or uncontrollable like some stallions can be.

Sunny was sired by Pride Of Midnight H. F. and a product of Go Boys Anniversary, he received his sorral colour from his dam. An amazing thing with Sunny was, when we bred him to a black mare he often threw a black foal, Sunny sired 54 offspring of that 3 were from black mares that had sorral foals, he was bred to 11 different black mares. Of his foals he sired 28 sorrels 2 of these were by gray mares, 19 blacks and 2 bays. His percentage of colts was 56 and 44 percent fillies. Many of his foals were shown very successfully. His foals were marked with his gentle nature, one of his foals is currently working as a police horse. He accented mares by shortening the backs of the foals.

Sunny was shown at our local shows, he had no professional training, we showed in the amature classes, we did very well bringing home a few ribbons and prizes.

At age 16 Sunny was hit with pneumonia, although we tried to save this beautiful gentle giant, we were unable to. Sunny is greatly missed!
